Before Your Surgery On the Day of Surgery After Your Surgery

1. Medication: Follow your doctor’s instructions on whether to stop or continue current medications.

2. CRITICAL - FASTING: Do not consume any food or liquids (including water, gum, mints) after midnight. Failure to comply will result in surgery cancellation.

3. Hygiene: Shower to reduce infection risk. Remove all nail polish, piercings, and jewelry.

4. Logistics: Arrange for a reliable driver and caregiver for your surgery day.

5. Pre-op Call: A nurse from Sun Surgery Center Huntington will contact you to confirm details.

1. Medication: Take only pre-approved medication with a small sip of water.

2. Attire: Wear loose clothing and slip-on shoes.

3. Essentials: Leave valuables at home. Remove makeup, jewelry, and contacts.

4. Required Items: MUST bring photo ID, insurance card, and payment.

5. Check-in: Report to the reception desk upon arrival.

6. Mandatory: A responsible adult must accompany you to receive instructions and drive you home.

1. Recovery: You will be monitored in our PACU until you are fully stable.

2. Safety Protocol (24 hrs): Do NOT drive, operate machinery, sign documents, or drink alcohol. These are dangerous due to residual anesthesia.

3. Home Care: Follow all discharge instructions provided by your surgeon.

4. Support: Have someone stay with you for the first 24 hours.
